MLB legend Lenny Dykstra pointed out that Jill Biden may have jinxed the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series. Dykstra — who was a member of the pennant-winning 1993 Phillies squad — pointed out that the Phillies went 0-3 with nine total hits after Dr. Jill showed up for game four. President Biden has long been a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Jill Biden attended game four after the Phillies took a two games to one advantage courtesy of a seven-run blowout game three in which the team clubbed five home runs. That turned out to be the high watermark for the Phillies, however, as the club’s bats fell silent, leading to a three-game losing streak and World Series loss to the Houston Astros.
Baseball players and fans have always put stock in superstition, so it was no surprise that stat watchers took note of the team’s collapse after Jill Biden’s appearance. In that game, the Phillies became just the second team in World Series history to not record a hit in a complete game.
The team was unable to bounce back from the stunning display and were defeated by Houston on their home field in two consecutive games.
“Since the doctor showed up, the #Phillies went 0-3 with 9 total hits,” Dykstra wrote in a tweet, followed by the hashtag, “TheCooler.”

Might be better off rolling out that red carpet for Lenny Dykstra instead of Dr. Jill Biden. (9 hits in 3 games since she showed up.)” Dykstra, who earned the nickname “nails” during his playing career, wrote in a follow-up tweet.
“Jill Biden goes to Phillies game… Phillies get no hit,” wrote one fan account. “Jill Biden is the new Drake.”
Earlier in the week, President Biden showed White House reporters that he was wearing Phillies socks in order to support the club. He ultimately congratulated both teams and invited Houston to the White House in a tweet.
“Proud of the [Phillies] for always believing – you’ll be back,” he wrote.
Congrats to the @Astros on a tremendous season and World Series title.
Proud of the @Phillies for always believing – you’ll be back.
