Amid critical tension in the Middle East, Israel’s far-right national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir led thousands of settlers on a march through the occupied West Bank to an illegal outpost. The Palestinian president’s office immediately condemned the march as “an invasion of settler militias,” while both Israelis and Palestinians spent their holy days burying their children after a surge in violence. The human toll is rising amid escalating tensions, after a raid on the Al Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli military last Tuesday. In addition, Iran-backed militants have exchanged fire with Israel, from Syria to Lebanon to Gaza, and the U.S. has announced deployment of a guided-missile submarine to the region. Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh joins the program for an exclusive interview.
