Elon Musk denied on Friday that SpaceX paid a female employee $250,000 to cover up sexual misconduct allegations against its CEO, saying the report is intended to “interfere with” the $44 billion Twitter acquisition.
According to a Business Insider report, Musk’s spacecraft company SpaceX paid a flight attendant $250,000 to ensure she didn’t sue the company after Musk allegedly “proposed her for sex.”
According to the report, the alleged victim, who was working as a crew member on a SpaceX corporate flight, claimed Musk inappropriately touched her and requested an erotic massage.
Tesla Owners Silicon Valley asked Musk on Twitter if he responded to the publication’s reporters, to which he replied: “No, it was clear that their only goal was a hit price to interfere with the Twitter acquisition. The story was written before they even talked to me”.
Musk, on the other hand, told Insider that he needed more time to respond and that “a lot more to this story.”
“If I were inclined to engage in sexual harassment, this is unlikely to be the first time in my entire 30-year career that it comes to light,” Musk said in an email to Insider, calling the story a “politically motivated hit piece.”
Musk said: “Finally, we get to use Elongate as a scandal name. It’s kinda perfect”.
The SpaceX flight attendant claimed Musk asked her to “do more” during the massage. According to the report, “she accused Musk of… rubbing her leg without her consent and offering to buy her a horse in exchange for an erotic massage,” citing interviews and documents.
Musk allegedly “exposed his genitals” during the massage.
The incident occurred in 2016, and it was documented in a declaration “signed by a friend of the attendant and prepared in support of her claim.”
Musk is currently in a bidding war to acquire Twitter and has put the deal on hold until he learns the true number of fake accounts on the platform.
Musk said on Thursday that political attacks on him will intensify in the coming months because he is now a Republican supporter.
