Back in 2018, during the Trump administration, news outlets like CNN did everything within their power to present former President Donald Trump and the GOP as a safe haven for Nazis, white supremacists, and the far right. That narrative continued not only during his four years in the White House, but after the January 6th riot, the liberal media and Democrats had all the ammunition they needed to censor Trump, criticize the GOP and label members of the MAGA movement domestic terrorists. But what is interesting is that while CNN accused Trump and Republicans of valuing race above all things, it was CNN who once warned about the “Vanishing of White America.”
That’s right, during the Trump presidency, as can be seen in the video below, CNN’s Michael Smerconish spoke about how by 2045, less than 50% of the United States would be white. His guest, Dr. Rogelio Saenz, noted, “these demographic trends are already playing out. Right now, in Texas, the Latino population is about 39-40% of the population. Whites are about 41% of the population. Demographers project that by 2022, Latinos will become the largest racial or ethnic group in the state of Texas. Yet, when we talk about politics, there is a significant lag period here with respect to demographic strength, translating to political power. So here in Texas, for example, we have about 30% of the Latino population who are less than 18 years of age. So these are individuals who are not eligible to vote. And then you also have a certain portion of the population that are here without being US citizens. They may be here legally temporary residents, etc. But they are not US citizens, so they cannot vote. So it’s a significant portion of the population in Texas that cannot vote. So you have that lag period between demographic strength and political power.”

Fast forward to Saturday when 18-year-old Payton Grendon killed ten people when he opened fire on a grocery store. CNN is claiming that due to him being white and most of the victims being black that he was more than likely acting out on his white supremacist ideology. A manifesto from the shooter was apparently posted online that shared several ideas from the Replacement theory. For those who might not know, replacement theory is the conspiracy to supposedly cripple the power held by white people by integrating more races through immigration.

In the video above, SE Cupp, a political commentator for CNN, claimed, “What the shooter did was his, you know, his decision alone. No one, as far as I know, told him to go out and shoot up a supermarket, but there was a cause and effect to amplifying this garbage, and some of the consequences are intended. It stirs up racial animus, ethnic animus, religious animus, that is the intended effect of turning neighbor against neighbor and getting people angry and afraid. Growing that base that is angry and afraid is part of the consequence.’
The guest continued, blaming Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert for spreading hate. “They feel empowered to run because this garbage, that was once disqualifying, has been so mainstreamed by political leaders and far-right-wing media that they’re not wearing hoods anymore. They’re not hiding in the basement.”
