Democracy cannot survive without honest reporting
The midterms are right around the corner.
All 435 House seats and 35 of 100 Senate seats are up for grabs, plus 36 out of 50 governorships.
The right-wing Democratic Party is expected to win twelve of those Senate seats while the righter-wing Rethuglicans take twenty.
In the House, the bankster-backed Dems are favored to win 199 seats while the fossil fuel-backed Pugs are expected to win 216 seats.
In other words, my predictions are still right on track: Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States whether he is elected or not.
But what’s truly crazy about all this is that something happened last week that absolutely should have made front-page news across the country and radically changed the election outcome:
The Speaker of the House was almost murdered last week.
Nancy Pelosi is not a good person.
Like all other politicians in the Democrat and Republican parties, she is a corporate-captured visionless sociopath.
She might also be an inside trader who uses a loophole in American law that allows her husband to make tens of millions of dollars from betting on stocks right before she changes laws to help or hurt them. (In fact, there’s even a Nancy Pelosi Portfolio Tracker so you can automatically make the same bets the Pelosis do.
She should be tried, booted from office, and thrown in prison.
But she shouldn’t be executed in her own home.
And that’s almost what happened last week.
After years of calling for the execution of key Democrats including Pelosi, Marjorie Taylor Greene finally got her wish in the form of 42-year-old David DePape:
82-year-old Paul Pelosi was asleep in bed when DePape smashed through a patio door and demanded to know the whereabouts of the Speaker of the House, shouting “Where is Nancy, where is Nancy?”
(Unsurprisingly, the intruder had been radicalized by Facebook and often posted conspiracy theories about “Covid vaccines, the 2020 election, and the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.”)
When it became apparent she wasn’t home, DePape — armed with a roll of tape, white rope, a second hammer, a pair of rubber and cloth gloves, and zip ties — attempted to tie up her husband, saying they were going to wait “until Nancy got home.”
Evidently Paul Pelosi fought back because he sustained injuries to his right arm and hand, and when the cops arrived they witnessed DePape smash the octogenarian in the head with a hammer so hard that he fell to the ground unconscious, waking in a pool of his own blood three minutes later. (Pelosi suffered a serious skull fracture that later required brain surgery.)
DePape told the authorities after his arrest that he was on a “suicide mission” with a list of other Democrat candidates to go after.
Can you believe this craziness?
The third person in the Presidential line of succession was almost assassinated and it didn’t even make the top of the news.
News is all about framing. Those who did run the story on Page 2 or below the fold framed it as “an attack on Paul Pelosi.”
But it wasn’t. It was a failed assassination attempt.
Imagine if an Antifa zealot broke into Mitch McConnell’s house and tried to beat his wife to death with a hammer.
It would be on the front page of every paper in the land.
It would legit start a Civil War.
If the corporatist media had’ve covered the Pelosi assassination attempt truthfully, it would’ve given millions of blue Republicans some serious pause before voting for its rabid candidates.
Instead, Trump immediately questioned the whole story, mocking her publicly while the Republicans weaponized the story to their benefit.
Because of untruthful reporting, the Trump train is moving full-steam ahead.
Well, assuming Republicans retake key governorships and the House, Republican state legislatures will immediately start changing election laws:
- Further gerrymandering districts
- Making it harder for Democrat-likely voters to vote
- Allowing Republican-held chambers to certify the election results instead of independent bodies
Donald Trump’s Facebook ban expires. Zuckerberg does the “right” thing (for shareholders) and re-instates the former POTUS.
Meme king tax evader Elon Musk will then use that pretext to allow Trump back on Twitter.
(Or perhaps it will be the other way around — Musk will allow Trump back on Twitter, which will give war criminal Mark Zuckerberg a justification to let the once-and-future-Prez back on Facebook.)
Donald Trump hosts huge rallies across the country while the Democrats still do half of theirs online and/or wearing virtue-signaling masks.
One (angry red) base gets fired up and ready for war.
Super Tuesday.
Donald Trump already has his Republican party nomination on lock and is cruising to an easy victory. All other candidates are simply angling for a seat at his cabinet table.
Democrats once again block centrist contenders like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren and put forward another corporate-captured right-wing candidate at their “Democratic” National Convention. It does not matter who they put forward because that person will not win.
Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination.
The Dems run a Dem-standard campaign, filling their little bellies with stress, but hoping and believing (but not praying) the polls giving them a slight edge will actually prove true on election night.
Election Day.
Donald Trump loses the election by the narrowest of margins.
Donald Trump announces he won the election and calls his state attorneys general to throw out Democrat votes, find a few extra Republican votes, and pick sympathetic fake electors to certify the election in his favor.
Facebook does “the right thing” and re-bans Trump, swearing this time it’s for good.
The electors gather in their respective state capitals to vote for President and Vice President.
Several states have voted Democrat, but their Republican-held legislatures send bogus electors who swing the election to Trump.
The electoral votes are formally counted before a joint session of Congress.
The President of the Senate, Kamala Harris, faces the same choice faced by Mike Pence: Whether or not to throw out phony election results.
And she does.
Because they are.
Hundreds of thousands of Republicans flood into Washington with more anger and weaponry than last time.
Protests, demonstrations, and Antifa-versus-the-Tea-Party battles break out in major cities across the nation.
Even though the real economy hasn’t even started to recover from 2023’s crash, the stock market temporarily freaks and the real economy spasms.
Joe Biden faces enormous pressure to call in the National Guard to quell the coup before he is no longer in charge of the military.
Inauguration Day.
Two presumptive presidents show up to be sworn in as the 47th President of a United States that hasn’t been so divided since the Civil War.
This is what happens when you let a republic turn into a corporatist oligarchy instead of a real democracy.
Both parties practice non-stop gerrymandering, partisan politics, insider trading, and dark money campaign finance — all for the benefit of private corporate interests, not widest-spread wellbeing.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it until the day I die:
Democracy is too precious a thing to entrust to politicians.
And there’s only one way out of this mess:
Stop voting for corporate-captured Democrats and Republicans and start voting with your dollars.
We’ve got just a few fiscal quarters to bankrupt the corporate powers who (s)elect the sociopaths who will rule the United States of America.
But will enough people actually wake up?
The Pelosis were nearly murdered thanks to Facebook radicalization and a corporate-created culture that downplays everything except the narratives they want the sheeple to hear.
Ironically — you really can’t make this stuff up — Paul Pelosi was given treatment at… wait for it… Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.
