(LifeSiteNews) — Americans voted Tuesday on abortion-related ballot initiatives in California, Kentucky, Michigan, Montana, and Vermont, and pro-abortion forces appear to have won the day in Vermont.
With 68% of the vote reported at the time of this writing, 77.1% of voters have voted in favor of a proposed amendment to the Vermont Constitution expressly guaranteeing “an individual’s right to personal reproductive autonomy,” including abortion. The development, while disappointing to pro-lifers, comes as little surprise in the pro-abortion state.
LifeSite will continue to monitor the election results as they come in; please check back with this report throughout the night for the results of the remaining four abortion referendums and analysis of their significance.
